Family Pedigree:
My paternal great-grandfather was Archibald McMillan of Murlaggan, who, in 1802, took 440 emigrants out to Canada from the Fort William area. He was the eldest (and only) son by the first marriage of Alexander McMillan, (son of John McMillan of Glenpean) and Margaret, dau. of Dugall MacGillonie-Cameron, 12th of Strone, and Margaret*, sister of "the Gentle Lochiel." Alex. became H. M. tenant of Murlaggan in 1748. Later, his son Archibald became Taxman of Murlaggan and Callich before he emigrated in 1802.
