Glengarry News (1-19-1923) Excerpt from the Obituary of Mr. John A. McDougald:
The late Mr. John A. McDougald was born on September 29th, 1838, on lot number 5 in the 4th concession Kenyon, near Alexandria, a farm which had been taken up by his grandfather who came out as a pioneer settler from Eig, Scotland, in 1790. His father was Angus McDougald, a Major in the 4th Battalion, Glengarry Militia, who saw service throughout the rebellion of 1837. His mother was Grace Cameron of Charlottenburgh Township, whose family belonged to the United Emfire (sic) Loyalists.

ANNE CHISHOLM (daughter of Ranald Chisholm and Catherine McPhee) was born on 01 May 1843 in Kenyon Twp., Glengarry, Ontario. She died on 08 Dec 1917 in Alexandria, Ontario. She married JOHN ANGUS MCDOUGALD on 10 Jan 1868 in St. Finnan's, Alexandria, Ontario, son of Major McDougald and Grace Cameron. He was born on 29 Sep 1838 in Kenyon Twp., Glengarry, Ontario. He died on 09 Jan 1923 in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario.
