Camerons In The Maria Burden Estate

Names of the heirs of the Maria Burden estate were published in the Albany Argus on 1871-04-24 asking them to attend a probate hearing at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.  The notice read as follows:


The People Of The State Of New York, To Nancy Smith, residing in Canada, post office address unknown, Eliza, wife of Samuel Shain, residing at Trafalgar, province of Ontario, Canada; James Cameron, residing at Esquessing, Halton county, Canada; Donald Cameron, William Cameron, Elizabeth Cameron, Sarah, wife of George Long, and Charles Cameron, residing at Toronto, county of Peel, Canada; Charles H. Shain, residing in Michigan, post office address unknown; James Shain and Mary*, wife of William Scott, residing in Dorchester, Canada; Hiram Shain, residing in London, Canada; Charles Sidney Smith, residing at Acton, county of Halton, Canada; Charles Cameron, Thomas Cameron, Annie Cameron, whose residence are unknown and cannot upon diligent inquiry be ascertained; William Haines, residing at Kankaba, Illinois; Mary Ann Hawesley, residing in Detroit, Michigan; Annie Haines, Lizzie Haines, George Haines and William Haines, residing in the county of Grey, Canada, post office address unknown; Maria, daughter of Elizabeth McKenzie, name of husband unknown; Alexander McKenzie, Anna McKenzie, Charles McKenzie, Elizabeth, wife of ___Turnbull, and Mary, wife of ____Luken, residing at Quebec, Canada, and to the other heirs at law and next of kin of Maria Burden, deceased, whose name and place of residence are unknown, and cannot, upon diligent inquiry be ascertained.

Whereas Daniel Manser, of the city of Brooklyn, has lately applied to our surrogate of the county of Kings to have a certain instrument in writing bearing date the 6th day of June 1868, relating to real and personal estate duly proved as the last will and testament of Maria Burden, late of the city of Brooklyn, deceased, wherefore, you and each of you are hereby cited and required to appear before our said surrogate, at his office in the county courthouse, in the city of Brooklyn, on the 8th day of May next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, and attend the probate of the last will and testament.
In witness whereof, William D. Veeder, esq., surrogate of our said county, has hereunto affixed his seal of (L.S.) office the 11th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy one and of our independence the ninety-_th.
