Cameron of Fassifern Papers

Cameron of Fassifern Papers at the National Library of Scotland.

"These papers were purchased by the Library in 1986. They comprise letters of and to members of the Cameron of Fassifern family (chiefly John Cameron of Fassifern, Sir Ewen Cameron of Fassifern and Sir Duncan Cameron of Fassifern, and, to a lesser extent, Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel and Donald Cameron of Lochiel), estate and household papers, legal deeds and accounts and other papers concerning Lieutenant Colonel John Cameron and his regiment, the 92nd Foot. A miscellaneous section includes inventories of furniture and books at Fassifern House in the 1730s and a plan of the House itself. While the bulk of the papers date from the late 17th century to the mid 19th century, there is also a small amount of late 19th century papers concerning the family’s Callart estate."
