...John is for the present in Mr. Gordon's employ
enclosed two documents...the other an account for damages promised to be paid by John Finlay to Allan Cameron in re for 48 pounds. On these things I have advanced money to Ewen and would need to be reimbursed as soon as possible.

Duncan's leg is still bad...
