After graduating from Purdue in 1943, Bruce Warren served as a Marine Officer in the Pacific Island Campaign of World War II (per his obituary in the Iron Mountain Daily News, December 14, 2005).
Bruce Warren was mentioned in an article in the Houston Chronicle entitled "It was the last game for many World War II marines," about the "Mosquito Bowl" played on Guadalcanal Island by two pick-up Marine Corps teams in 1944.
After his marriage to Ruth he then lived in Trout Creek in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
